MONSTARS entertain, while LADY SAINTS reign!!
12/15/2009
A home crowd of nearly 800 (small exaggeration) set the scene for the battle of the century. In a first ever appearance - the MONSTARS came to the court to meet the LADY SAINTS, this past Monday night, Dec. 14th. Despite ruthless and sometimes spiteful antics from the MONSTARS, the Lady Saints reigned supreme, scoring over 100 points against the ragtag collection of basketball wannabes.
Coach Billy Glosson, with painted-on goatee, and his team of athletic underachievers, brought their bag of tricks to the court - among the favorites: "zombie", "abduction", "battering ram" and "Marco Polo". A generous portion of entertainment was served up to the crowd, along with some startling moments as well.
The most appalling moments came with an all-out assault on home team leading scorer, Mazie Dowdy. Several times during the game she was smothered in 3 on 1 coverage. The MONSTARS targeted Dowdy early in the game and continued to harass her throughout the evening.
Not to be outdone, Coach Menear enlisted the assistance of a little known young lady from campus, one Krissy Holford. The 6'6" sophomore, dunked the ball with ease, and earned 5 assists - including 3 "assists" as dunks for Loree Vickio and Marissa Hunter.

Half-time entertainment was brought in the form of a special performance by "CJ FOX" a famous rapper, puppet who sang "I'm A Saint" by Lecrae. The crowd went wild as CJ appeared in fog and lights on the Central stage.
A good time was had by all. We definitely look forward to the 2nd Annual MONSTARS/LADY SAINTS exhibition game!
